Zambia Water Partnership's completed and ongoing projects 2004 – 2020

2020-date: Continental Africa Water Investment Programme. Seeks to leverage about USD 30 Billion for SDG 6 Investments in Water and create 5 million jobs by 2030 at the Pan-African level. Zambia was selected as one of the first five countries where the programme would be piloted starting in 2020. Implementation in Zambia commenced in July 2020. 

2020: Supported the facilitation of a consultative workshop on IWRM implementation in Zambia. 

2018- date: Supporting the implementation of the Cities and Infrastructure for Growth -programme in Zambia.

2018 - date: GCF Investment project development- Climate Proofing Livingstone Water Supply for $89 million in partnership with DBSA, DFID/CRIDF.

2017 - date: NAP proposal to the GCF for approximately $3 million. 

2017: Supported the facilitation of a consultative workshop on IWRM implementation in Zambia. 

Convening the Zambia Water Forum and Exhibition (ZAWAFE) in collaboration with NWASCO, UNZA IWRM Centre, GIZ and others.

2014: Facilitated SDG Consultation on Water. 

Participation in the Water Sector Advisory Group (Water SAG).

Supported the Government in integrating climate change in the Water Chapter of the 6th NDC.

2011 - 2015: Supported Government to mainstream IWRM in the 6th National Development Plan.

2010 - date: Have facilitated the preparation of the Pilot Water Use Accounts-which fed into the preparation of the Zambia Country report under the SADC Economic Accounting of Water Use- Construction of Pilot Water Use Accounts project.

2009 -2010: Zambia Water Partnership facilitated the development of an Investment Profile for the use of water for agriculture and energy development in Zambia.

2010: Zambia Water Partnership took the lead in revising the Water Chapter of the 5th National Development Plan  to realign it with climate change.

2004: Zambia Water Partnership supported the government in the preparation of their Integrated Water Resources Management and Water Efficiency Implementation Plan (IWRM/WE).
