Nelson Rafael is a Lecturer working with the Zambeze University in Mozambique, since 2011. His responsibilities include teaching and research and he is the director of Forestry Engineering Course. He holds a BSc in Forestry Engineering Degree and a MSc in Agricultural Economy – Natural Resource Economy. He is assisting degree students in their thesis focusing on three areas: bio-energy (charcoal and derivates) for households, commercial and industries uses, natural resource (forest, land, minerals, water) management based in the community and rural development. In the energy sector, their research is about the systems (programmes at different level, product’s value chain, market, agents) and mechanisms (price negotiations, plans, activities) of bio-energy supply, from local community to industries uses.
