Its participation aimed to strengthen its capacities for sustainable water management in order to improve the national performance of Sao Tome and Principe. The delegation of the country was composed of Mrs. Valdemira TAVARES, President of the CWP of Sao Tomé and Mr. Carlos GOMES PEIRERA, Executive Secretary.
The CWP of Sao Tome felt the need to promote water resources management, establish a Memorandum of Understanding with the Portuguese Water Partnership (PPA) and mobilize new partnerships. During this meeting, the CWP of Sao Tome PNE succeeded in signing the cooperation agreement with the Portuguese Water Partnership (PPA), promoting its contribution to the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Sao Tome and Principe and holding meetings with the CWP of Cape Verde and Brazil to improve exchange relations with its partners.
At the end of the meeting, the Sao Tome PNE committed to work in a participatory and coordinated manner on integrated water resources management issues and to consolidate its exchanges with the Portugal CWP, especially as the 14th edition of the symposium could be held in Sao Tome.
