GWP China, Department of Water Resources of Yunan and that of Guangxi, the China State Construction Engineering Corporation(Guangxi) and Dayu Irrigation Group Co. Ltd. shared their knowledge products and implementation outcomes with the team of GWP Cambodia.

The implementation in Yunnan Province highlighted was the Erhai Lake. This integrated pollution management contains its water quality monitoring system, and the Digital smart irrigation with water saving and bank account access operation which attracts the farmers to join for their benefits and economic grow.
In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Guangxi Water Resource Department shared their concept of harmonization and coordinated development of the water resources management. It introduced the Nakao River and Wetland Park and drainage system. Those pilots treat the liquid waste from the surrounded sources and the natural ecological regulator and sponge function. And the Yong River management is in harmony with the surrounded landscape, city development and local people livelihood.

After meeting with the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the GWP Cambodian group was invited by the Belt and Road Working Committee of GWP China to visit the Youjiang scientifical data-based irrigation operation. The Belt and Road Working Committee of GWP China told their peers from Cambodia that they have been working towards the goal of cooperation with ASEAN Countries in water resources management and engineering, exchange knowledge and forum, and the large scale construction investment projects of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation in 60 countries in the world and in Cambodia.

By the end of the learning journey in China, Solieng Mak, Chair of GWP Cambodia said, "We are impressive with all sites in Yunnan and Guanxi Provinces: Successful Erhai Lake pollution management and Digital irrigation with water saving and bank account access operation which attracts the farmers to join for their benefits and economic grow in Yunnan Province; and while in Guangxi Province, the concept of harmonization and coordinated development of the Guangxi Water Resource Department, the Nakao Wetland Park and the drainage system which regulate and treat the liquid waste from the surrounded sources, the Yung River management in harmony with the surrounded landscape, city development and local people, the Yovjiang digital and scientifical data-based irrigation operation; and study on IWRM-based water resources management by the China State Construction Company and his cooperation with the GWP China, the establishment of Belt and Road Committee, the goal to cooperation with ASEAN in water resources management and engineering through exchange knowledge and forum, and the Phinglou waterway development that will connect Guangxi province to ASEAN Countries, and the large scale construction investment projects of the China State Construction Company in 60 countries in the world and in Cambodia. "
Talking about takeaway from this visiting, Dr. Solieng added, "our takeaway from this learning program is that the contributing factors to the progress and high development in the water and related sectors in China in addition to the Enabling Environment for IWRM implementation, are the strong and close cooperation between the Government and private sectors, and the motivation/spiritual and financial supports from the Government, and especially President Xi."
