Attend the Foreign Affairs Management Training Course of the Ministry of Water Resources of China

The Ministry of Water Resources' 2024 Foreign Affairs Management Training Course will commence in Beijing on November 20 and 22, 2024.

The Ministry of Water Resources' 2024 Foreign Affairs Management Training Course will commence in Beijing from November 20th to 22nd, 2024. The National Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Water Resources will host the event, while the Talent Resources Development Center will undertake the organizational responsibilities. One hundred officials from pertinent departments and units within the Ministry, alongside heads of foreign affairs departments, participated in this training. Ma Yilin, regional communication officer of GWP China, was invited to be one of the attendees.

Over the course of three days, the training invited experts and scholars from various departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Water Resources, the Foreign Affairs College, and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to deliver special lectures. The curriculum covered diplomatic thinking, adapting to new diplomatic shifts among major countries, protocol work and foreign etiquette, case studies on the entire process of managing overseas delegations, hosting international conferences in China, confidentiality practices in water conservancy foreign exchanges, interpretation of "Selected Works on Water Seepage," the latest foreign affairs management policies, building international communication capabilities in the new era, and cross-cultural exchanges.

The meeting summed up the achievements and experiences of water conservancy foreign affairs work in recent years, analyzed the current situation and challenges, and mapped out the next phase of key foreign affairs tasks. It also facilitated thematic discussions and experience-sharing sessions. In recent times, the advancement of water conservancy work has necessitated higher standards for water conservancy foreign affairs, aligning with the high-quality development goals and tasks for water conservancy in the new era, and fully leveraging the supportive and protective role of water conservancy foreign affairs. Water diplomacy actively engages in global water governance, contributing Chinese wisdom, solutions, and prowess. Several international water conservancy events have been successfully held and concluded, various water conservancy achievements have been accomplished, "small and beautiful" projects have been actively promoted, and emphasis has been placed on advancing China's high-level water conservancy "going global." With a focus on the key issues of high-quality water conservancy development in the new era, efforts will be intensified to enhance mutual learning and exchange of water management policies, practical experiences, and scientific technologies between China and foreign countries, vigorously promoting the high-quality "introduction" of China's water conservancy. Active service to neighboring diplomacy, consolidating and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in cross-border rivers, and fully projecting the image of a responsible water conservancy power will be prioritized.
