On October 12, 2016, the integrated regulation of water resources for ecological progress workshop was jointly organized by the China Academy of Engineering, Dalian University of Technology and China Institute of Hydropower and Water Resources Research (IWHR) in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

The 2016 GWP PANASIA Workshop was organized by GWP SEA and hosted by Singapore PUB in Singapore from July 14 to 15, 2016.

On July 6, 2016, the “Live Online Broadcast Launching the China Water Report” was kicked off at 15:00 of Beijing time (08:00 of British time).

The programme of ecological security of ten-kilometre river of Fujian Province was initiated by Fujian Water Resources Department and GWP China Fujian.

On May 13, 2016, the MoU was signed between GWP China and other three Asian Regional Water Partnerships under the witness of all GWP family members in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Sponsoring Partners have announced the appointment of Dr. Oyun Sanjaasuren as the new Chair of GWP, effective July 1, 2016. Dr. Oyun is a Member of Parliament of Mongolia, former Minister of Environment and Green Development, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. She currently serves as President of the United Nations Environment Assembly of UNEP.

The GWP’s annual Regional Days were took place in Stockholm from 10 to 13 May.

On March 27, 2016, GWP China Hunan, jointly with Hunan Provincial Department of Water Resources and Changsha University of Science & Technology, organized a saving water campaign in Changsha University of Science & Technology, in Changsha, Hunan Province.

On the occasion of World Water Day (22 March), GWP China hosted the 3^rd Regional Partners’ Meeting during which the new council members of GWP China were elected for a term of three years (2016-2018) in Beijing.

On 22 March, 2016, GWP China hosted the Forum on National Water Security in Beijing.
