Forum on Heavy Metal Soil Remediation and Ecological Restoration

The 2012 Forum on Heavy Metal Soil Remediation and Ecological Restoration (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Forum’) was held on May 30th and May 31st, 2012, in Beijing.

The event was organized by the ER-China.com and jointly sponsored by the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences and Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences. As the working partner of the organizer, GWP China was invited to the forum.


The theme of this forum is "improving the soil quality and developing human settlement"; four topics include: "The restoration techniques, methods and practice of heavy metal pollution control"; "case studies of heavy metal soil remediation and ecological restoration”; “heavy metal pollution regulations policies and management" and "financing innovative mechanisms and business models of heavy metal contamination soil remediation and ecological restoration”.


The experts, leaders of governments at different levels, business elites and journalists from related fields and well-known organizations were invited to discuss about management methodologies, restoration technologies, research and practice, case studies, regulations, financing mechanisms and business models of heavy metal contaminated soil and ecological restoration in order to address important issues of heavy metal contamination in the process of China's rapid economic development and contribute strategies about technologies, funds and management. And finally, it can promote the development of China's heavy metal contamination soil remediation and ecological restoration undertakings improve the soil environmental quality in China and develop a good living environment for human.
