The Conference was taken place in Peking University and kindly supported by the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for Human Progress of Switzerland and Beijing Eco Group.
The conference convened more than 100 participants from five continents from the world. The topics ranged from literature, art, law, ecology, science to hydrology. The conference, particularly, attracted young pioneers who are developing new research fields related to Eco-culture and Environmental Education. The significant outcome of this conference is the World Ecoculture Organization which was set up by Chinese experts and joined with all professionals from five continents of the world.
As one of organizers, GWP China recommended Professor. Gao Zhanyi, Director of Department of Irrigation and Drainage of China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research as well as Vice President of International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage to deliver presentation “Coping with Population Growth, Climate Change, Water Scarcity and Growing Food Demand in the 21th Century”. Amid the conference, GWP China gathered delegates to visit the views of China South-to-North Water Division Project.
