International Conference on Simulation and Regulation of Water Cycle in River Basin

The International Conference on Simulation and Regulation of Water Cycle in River Basin was jointly held by GWP China, Chinese Academy of Engineering, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Zhejiang University and State Key Laboratory of Basin Water Cycle Simulation and Regulation, on December 9 to 12, 2013 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

The dozens of well-known experts and scholars  in hydrology and water resources fields from China,  USA,  UK, Canada ,etc. were invited  to the Conference and delivered keynote speeches and reports. The participants were more than a hundred from scientific research institutions, research institutions, enterprises, NGOs and civil society.
On behalf of GWP China, Prof. WANG Hao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice Chair of GWP China, made his keynote speech of "Water Circulation in the Basin Evolution Mechanism and Efficient Use of Water Resources" and developed extensive academic exchanges and interactions with other experts. After Prof. WANG, there were some other scholars presented their research  results related to water cycle in river basins, urban areas and agriculture. The Conference was completed in a success as it was conducive to further promote the development of the discipline of hydrology and water resources; enhance international influence on simulation and regulation of water cycle in river basin; and improve water cycle evolution mechanism and research progress. After the meeting, "Scientific Times", a famous domestic news agency, published a headline article – ‘who knows Hai "thirst"’, to report the main findings and key technology of simulation and regulation of water cycle in the Haihe River Basin. The article further promoted the core of this  conference and highly appreciated the significance of this event for broader exchanges and cooperation.
