The training workshop summarized the annual highlights and achievements on international cooperation of the MWR. In order to implement the “ Document on Speeding Up Reform and Development in Water Sector” by the Central Government and fulfill the targets set by the Central Water Working Conference and the National Working Conference on International Cooperation, the organizer of the activity had analyzed the national and international issues of water management in terms of international cooperation and stated the objectives, missions and present working priorities.
The invited experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered reports on the current world situation including the challenges faced by the Chinese government and the role played by the NGOs and policies and management of NGOs in China.
Following the reports, the participants conducted discussions. As the representative of one of the invited NGOs, Ms Ma Yilin, the Communication Officer, GWP China, during the discussions, introduced the mission, vision and key activities of GWP and GWP China in the new strategy period to the other representatives. The participants from the provincial water resources departments expressed their willingness in developing contacts and cooperation with GWP.
