On June 16, 2011, Dr. Dong Zheren, the standing Vice Chair of GWP China, and Mr. Zheng Rugang, the Coordinator of GWP China, were invited to participate in the meeting on reviewing the study programmes organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Water Resources in Beijing. The participants reviewed the two programmes of the “study on key technology for ecological protection of the large water and hydropower projects” and the “study and demonstration on regional and sectoral climate change adaptation” and made some comments and suggestions for modification. Then the modified texts of the two programmes will be submitted to the responsible governmental agency for approval and inclusion into the state research programmes in the 12th Five-Years(2011-2015) Plan.
Dr. Dong and Mr. Zheng made their comments and suggestions and stressed the importance of the approval of and inclusion of these programmes into the state study programmes. When discussing the second programme, Mr. Zheng Rugang expressed the wish that GWP China would like to be involved in the implementation after its approval.
