On Nov.18,2011, Prof. Uma Lele, the GWP TEC Member, visited the Secretariat of GWP China and had exchanges with Mr. Zheng Rugang, the Coordinator, and Dr. Jiang Yunzhong ,the Communication Officer, of GWP China.
Prof. Uma is very interested in agriculture water use in many countries particularly in India and China in Asia. She has been preparing some papers and presentation on the aspect. In order to make sure that the information and figures about China’s agricultural water use are correct, she has come to have this technical exchange and discussions with her colleges of GWP China on such aspects as policies, water use efficiency, irrigation facilities, financing and water tariff, etc.
Prof. Uma suggests that GWP China should further introduce to the other countries about what they have been done and achieved in agricultural water use.
