Following the On-site Conference on Rural Drinking Water Safety and Water Saving Ecological Campus on May 12, 2009, the GWP China Shaanxi organized a study group to develop a survey report. The report on Rural Drinking Water Safety and Water Saving Ecological Campus reviewed experiences of related issues in middle and primary schools in Shaanxi province and proposed three suggestions about how to upgrade rural drinking water safety and water saving ecological campus construction.
GWP China and GWP China Shaanxi submitted the survey report to Minister Chen Lei of Water Resources. Minister Chen has attached importance to drinking water safety of rural middle and primary schools. It shows on the official reply of Minister Chen on November 20 that “We should pay much attention to rural drinking safety and adopt this part into plan for final solution.” The relevant departments are requested to carry out this issue. According to the assignment of Minister, the Department of Planning and Programming is managing, jointly with Department of Irrigation, Drainage and Rural Water Supply, to put this issue into 2010 investment program with actual measures.
