Dr. Pinimidzai Sithole is a development expert with 16 years’ experience in the consulting, research, lecturing and international publication. He specialises in the fields of political economy, environmental issues, water policy and strategy, plural laws, natural resource governance, catchment management, gender mainstreaming and livelihoods development. He led and supervised the execution of consulting projects for clients in water, policy and strategy development, socio-economic studies, gender studies and evaluation of programmes and projects. He is an established sector specialist in programme and project monitoring and evaluation with solid experience in large and small-scale data collection, design, implementation and analysis. He has facilitated training of trainers’ courses and workshops in WASH, gender mainstreaming and capacity building.
In the past 10 years, he developed trusted advisor relationships with clients and partners by delivering business and organisational insights, identifying critical focus areas, selling effective solutions, and managing complex improvement programmes. He has very good management and communication skills and has worked with diverse project teams. He holds a PhD in Public Administration (with a thesis focusing on comparative analysis of rural water governance in the Limpopo Basin) from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa (in collaboration with IWMI), a Masters in Sociology and Social Anthropology and a Bachelor in Sociology (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe.
Reporting to Dr. Loreen Katiyo, he will support the Bupusa GEF project implementation and AIP transboundary portfolio.
