Dr Loreen Katiyo is the Transboundary Water Governance and Environment Specialist and has a PhD in Bioscience Engineering and a MSc in Water Resources Engineering from KU Leuven, Belgium, and a BSc Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe. She has 14 years of experience in the Water and Environmental conservation sectors.
Dr. Katiyo’s technical competencies include Hydrological modelling and Simulation, Environment Flows, Integrated Water Resources Management, Catchment and Water Allocation Planning, Environmental Engineering; and, Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene. Her background in Civil engineering and appreciation of conservation issues enables her a balanced approach to both developmental and conservation issues, and effective engagement with stakeholders across the board on the social, ecological and economic consequences of the development of river catchments.
