Maureen Nkandu is a communications and international affairs specialist from Zambia.
Her more than twenty-five-years of work experience spans across international organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (Johannesburg), NEPAD Agency (Midrand) and African Union (Washington DC), where she served in senior communications and advocacy positions. She has vast experience in developing and executing communications strategies at country, regional and global levels.
An eloquent public speaker, Maureen began her career as a broadcast journalist for Radio and TV in Zambia, and later worked as chief international correspondent for the South African Broadcasting Corporation, specialising in conflict and civil wars, and political developments in Africa. The epitome of her journalism career was with the British Broadcasting Corporation in London, presenting and producing the flagship radio programme - Focus on Africa.
Before joining GWPSAF, Maureen served as spokesperson and regional communications manager for WaterAid Southern Africa in Pretoria.
