René Schieritz is a Programme Development Specialist for GWP with a particular focus on climate finance through the Green Climate Fund. Through his previous experience as a consultant, he has contributed to the development of several climate adaptation projects funded by the GCF, Adaptation Fund and the Global Environmental Facility’s Least Development Country Fund. He has worked in countries throughout South Asia and Europe.
René holds an MSc in Environmental and Geographical Sciences through the University of Cape Town, with particular focus on water resources management in the urban context. He has particular interest in sustainable finance, climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions and water resources monitoring.
