29 May 2021, the Junior Water Prize (JWP) Final was broadcast live to 900,000 audiences online. 15 teams of 13-18-year-old students from 8 provinces shared their innovative products and answered the jury to realize their innovative solutions to improve water and environment development. Zhan Hanchu and Huang Haoxing, Guangdong Experimental Middle School, won the award for their "voice-controlled water saving device”.

22 October 2020, the China Water News published a special issue on which composed interviews with leaders of the Ministry of Water Resources, GWP China, IAHR, ICID and more international organizations. The powers, from various standpoints, introduced their international water cooperation outcomes and highlights.

July 22, 2020, Hao WANG, regional vice chair of GWP, invited by CCTV the Global Times, led the media and the public view on flood disasters and water management in a rational direction.

July 27, 2020, the Consultation Workshop of SDG 6.5.1 2020 Reporting was organized by GWP China, inviting twenty experts on water and environment authorities, media, research institutes, enterprises and NGOs.

13 July 2020, college students completed their first and special social practice ONLINE jointly underpinned by GWP China, IWA, universities of Shanghai, the private sector, research institutions and more NGOs.

In June 2020, the Ministry of Water Resources sent an expert team to Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, to explore water development regarding science and technology in mountain areas. Prof Yunzhong Jiang, regional coordinator of GWP China, was one of the professional advisors.

On June 2, 2020, close to World Environment Day, was the launch of the Lishui River Basin Development Project held in Lishui Town, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Vice chair of GWP China, Wang Hao, delivered a speech and introduced a new water management concept.

7 April 2020, the media team of Huawei visited GWP China and interviewed Prof Yunzhong Jiang, regional coordinator of GWP China on the smart water development in China.
