5th UN Special Thematic Session on Water and Disasters

The 5th UN Special Thematic Session on Water and Disasters takes place on 25 June. The event is a high-level global event around the issue of water and disasters, where representatives of member states and other stakeholders discuss the theme as a critical element of achieving sustainable development. GWP Chair Howard Bamsey will be one of the panelists in the closing session.

High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development2021

The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is the core United Nations platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The 2021 edition takes place on 6-15 July. GWP Executive Secretary Darío Soto-Abril will address a SDG 6 Special Event in connection to the HLPF on 9 July.

International Youth Day 2021

International Youth Day is celebrated annually on 12 August to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and to celebrate the potential of youth as active partners in the global society. The 2021 theme for the day is about transforming food systems.

SIWI World Water Week 2021

This year, the World Water Week organised by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) will be held as a full-scale digital event on 23-27 August. The theme for 2021 is "Building Resilience Faster". GWP is involved in several sessions throughout the week. The confirmed sessions are listed below.
