GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. GWP Regions

They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Webinar Series: Water and Climate

In July 2020, a webinar series will be held on “Coordinating, Implementing, and Financing National Climate and Water Policy Frameworks”. It has been developed by Cap-Net, UNDP, Global Water Partnership, AGWA, SIWI, and the Water Governance Facility. The webinars will highlight and contribute to strengthening climate and water linkages in national frameworks such as NDCs, NAPs, and various investment mechanisms.

The webinars aim to improve the coordination across climate and water decision-makers and professionals; provide examples of coordination and implantation mechanisms and introduce the financing landscape of climate and water.

9 JULY 2020: Supporting the NDCs under the Paris Agreement
In our first webinar we discuss how improved cross-sector understanding and knowledge among climate and water decision-makers and professionals contribute to improved coordination between climate change and water decision-making. It will introduce a practical tool for identifying climate and water inter-linkages.

16 JULY: Implementation
The second webinar aims to help countries understand the different processes and tools that can help in adaptation planning and implementation, starting from the strategic level adaptation planning to local level adaptation actions.

23 JULY: Climate finance
The third webinar introduces three main global climate finance mechanisms and explores the role of GCF - understanding its mandate, investment criteria, operational modalities, funding windows, and procedures for accessing resources for climate resilient water initiatives.
