GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Global Youth

Calling young people with big ideas about flood and drought management!

Are you between 15 and 35? Do you have innovative ideas about how the world can better manage droughts and floods? If so, we want to hear from you!

The Global Integrated Flood and Drought Management Competition for youth-led projects is organised by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Global Water Partnership (GWP) in conjunction with the Water Youth Network.

It is offering EUR 3,000 for the winning idea, as well as concept note development support and coaching for the 10 shortlisted proposals.

The competition will focus on the following themes:

Monitoring: Innovative monitoring for early warning systems (EWS)
Warning dissemination: Creative ways to disseminate early warnings
Communication and awareness raising: New approaches to increase the preparedness and ability of populations to react appropriately to warnings
Impact mapping: Ideas on how to map hazard impacts to improve understanding.

You can enter more than one category and the submission deadline is 16 January 2022.
