The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme carried out a study to understand the underlying gaps, challenges and constraints and key enabling factors to advance on the topic of gender mainistreaming in water resources management. Now, countries will have the opportunity to learn from the key findings of the study and from each other by sharing experiences on challenges and key enablers for gender mainstreaming. The learning exchange will also serve as an initial discussion to further define the support needed to overcome those bottlenecks.
WHEN: The learning exchange will be held twice on 16 September to accomodate different time zones: a morning slot at 10:00-11.30 CEST and an afternoon slot at 16:30-18.00 CEST.
HOW: Registration is required - please note that the number of participants for each session is limited, so early registration is recommended. Register HERE for the morning slot, or HERE for the afternoon slot.
WHAT: The learning exchange will consist of three parts:
- Introduction and presentation of findings of the study on gender mainstreaming in water resources management and findings from monitoring of SDG 5 on gender equality
- Presentation of case studies from selected country representatives and other relevant stakeholders on selected enablers
- Interactive session to share experiences and define needed support for the future, involving all participants
The learning exchange will be held in English, with French and Russian translation in the morning slot, and Spanish translation in the afternoon slot.
