Regional Climate Weeks 2021: Latin America and the Caribbean

The Regional Climate Weeks 2021 kick off with the Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW2021) on 11-14 May. The virtual thematic sessions take the pulse of climate action in the region, explore climate challenges and opportunities, and showcase ambitious solutions.

"2021 is a historic year for global climate action at COP26. This is the year we either lose sight of the Paris targets, or it is the year we start implementing the Paris Agreement. It is our opportunity to increase global climate ambition in COVID-19 recovery and kick-start a decade of action," states the dedicated web page of the event, hosted by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The virtual sessions will focus on three themes:

  • National actions and economy-wide approaches
  • Integrated approaches for climate-resilient development
  • Seizing transformation opportunities

Full details are available on the UNFCCC web page.
