A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. GWP Regions

Drought continues to be one of the most under-financed climate challenges, despite growing awareness of its systemic impacts on agriculture, water, energy, and health. Following COP16, where drought was a prominent—but unresolved—theme, the conversation on how to effectively finance drought resilience is more relevant than ever.

This 90-minute webinar will bring together global institutions, financing mechanisms, and national experts to explore who is currently funding drought-related activities, what lessons can be learned from COP16, and how countries are mobilising finance through national drought management plans (NDMPs).

The session will also open the floor for dialogue on gaps, barriers, and innovative financing solutions—including the role of risk insurance and multi-sectoral strategies—to better address drought as a slow-onset and systemic hazard.
