GWP Executive Secretary Dr Ania Grobicki participates in the side event “Water – the Urban Challenge”, in Cape Town to discuss how the world’s economic growth and social welfare depend on the sustainable management of the world’s water resources. GWP Eastern Africa Coordinator Simon Thuo is a panelist in the side event “Water and Disasters”, addressing reducing risk and vulnerability as an essential goal to be pursued given the rapid increase in disasters worldwide. The opening speech is by HRH Prince Willem Alexander who is the Chair of UNSGAB and a GWP Patron. The panel discussion is facilitated by GWP Patron Margaret Catley-Carlson. Read more.
