A series of six national stakeholders' meeting for the planning of the Flood and Drought risk management strategy in the Volta Basin started on 16 November 2022 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire as the first of the series to be held in the VBA countries.

A technical workshop was held from 20 October to 3 November 2022 in Koubri to finalize the modules and other materials for the 5th online course. The distance or e-learning includes different courses covering the whole value chain of the end-to-end early warning system for flood forecasting (E2E-EWS-FF) and the three pillars of drought management. Four online courses have already been organized from September 2021 to November 2022.
CWP Benin with the water non-state actors framework (CANEA) started a media campaign aiming at raising awareness around the various laws of the water sector. After the vote and the adoption of the law on public hygiene, it is necessary to popularize it in order to make it known to the general public. Though every is meant to know, in reality very few including senior official know about the laws.
The Niger Basin Authority (NBA) organized the meeting of its Technical Experts Committee to analyze and examine the various concerns facing the NBA in its functioning, its relations with its partners, the Executive Secretariat and the Member States and made recommendations and orientations to enable the Ministers of the 9 Member States to take decisions for the good functioning of the Authority.

Global Water Partnership West Africa and the Country Water Partnership of Ghana (CWP-Ghana) jointly with the ECOWAS Water Resources Management Center (WRMC), the World Bank (WB) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) organized on October 4, 2022, the regional dissemination workshop on the EPIC Response Framework: innovative governance for flood and drought risk management.
The department of Saint-Louis has a large reserve of coastal, continental and artificial wetlands, including the Langue de Barbarie, mudflats, lakes, etc. Indeed, of the nine (9) sites in Senegal included in the list of wetlands of international importance (Ramsar sites), five (5) are located in the Saint-Louis region. These wetlands are currently facing anthropic and climatic constraints.
