As an official intergovernmental observer to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and a core partner of COP27’s Water Pavilion, GWP actively prepared for this year’s COP by promoting discussion of the vital role of good water management for increasing climate resilience throughout the year.
200+ women and girls in the Center region of Cameroon have been sensitized and trained on good agroforestry practices in a bid to explore agroforestry as a sustainable means to reinforce climate resilience to reduce the effects of climate change on the vulnerable population.
GWP-Cameroon in collaboration with the Douala Urban City Council organized a two-day multi-stakeholder workshop in Douala on August 5th – 6th, to present the results of the case studies carried out by GWP-Cameroon on plastic waste pollution and its impact on the rivers in Cameroon’s economic capital, Douala.
The concept note for the “Integrated Water Resource Management and Early Warning System for Climate Resilience in the Lake Chad Basin” project, has been approved by the Adaptation fund.
