More than twenty (20) stakeholders in St. Lucia from Ministries of Public Utilities and Finance and other government agencies, the private sector, non-governmental organisations, water and wastewater managers, legal practitioners, among others were trained in the area of Water Financing in a workshop held in St. Lucia on May 28^th and 29^th, 2013 put on by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and the National Water and Sewerage Commission (NWSC) of St. Lucia.

GWP-C Press Release - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Stakeholders in St. Lucia to Receive Training in Water Financing

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) with the support of its partner, the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) hosted a National Stakeholder Consultation on Water in Antigua on April 11^th, 2013.

To drive the interest of Integrated Water Resources Management at the political level in the Caribbean, since 2005, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in collaboration with its partner, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) host an Annual High Level Forum of Ministers (HLFM).

GWP Caribbean (GWP-C) and GWP Mediterranean (GWP Med) are building awareness on the importance of water conservation by implementing rainwater harvesting techniques. With islands surrounded by salt water, the rainwater harvesting model is critical for access to fresh water in both regions.

The entire Global Water Partnership (GWP) network is commemorating 2013, the United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation, with the launch of a publication entitled “Water: Catalyst for Cooperation.”

The 2013 Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Media Awards on Water has been extended to May 12th, 2013.
