Members of the GWP Caribbean Journalists' Network are more concerned about water issues and more motivated to produce 'hard-hitting' stories on water-related topics than non-members. 

Representatives from government ministries, non-governmental organanisations (NGOs) and community-based organisations (CBOs) all convened on February 15^th, 2012 for the 8^th Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Stakeholder Meeting put on by the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) and the Water Resources Agency (WRA) of Trinidad and Tobago.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) has steadily continued building awareness on the usefulness of rainwater harvesting and the importance of water conservation with the help of its Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) model which was developed in late 2010.

The National Institute of Higher Education Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) seeks to recognise and reward nationals of Trinidad and Tobago for outstanding achievements in science and technology.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) sought to assess the effectiveness of its training manual on Water Use Efficiency (WUE) in the Tourism Industry and Hotel Sector by hosting a WUE workshop in Antigua on November 29^th - 30^th, 2011. To assist in carrying out the WUE workshop in the Tourism sector, GWP-C contracted the Environment Tourism Consulting Limited (ETC).

In its efforts to continue building capacity for improved water management in the region, Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) together with its partner, the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) hosted a workshop entitled ‘Water Use Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector’ on November 1^st - 3^rd, 2011 at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Centre in St. Kitts.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) had the opportunity to share information on rainwater harvesting and water conservation with hundreds of students at the Preysal Community Science Week held in Trinidad on November 7^th - 12^th, 2011.

As capacity-building support to its Partner organisations, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) together with the University of Dundee will offer scholarships for 30 participants to undertake a module in International Water Law, in Dundee, June 11^th - 29^th, 2012.

The Suriname Water Resources Information System (SWRIS) Project has enhanced water resources management in the country. As well as the online information system, the project has developed a water video, a collection of hydro-meteorological field data, awareness programmes about water resources for primary and secondary schools, training, and academic courses at the BSc and MSc level.

GWP Caribbean has contributed to improving water use efficiency in the agricultural sector in the twin-island state by providing training and a technical resource manual.
