On behalf of the entire Global Water Partnership, I congratulate Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of the Sulabh Sanitation Movement in India, on becoming the 2009 Stockholm Water Prize Laureate.
The award of the 2009 Stockholm Water Prize is important recognition of Dr. Pathak and the Sulabh Sanitation Movement's dedicated efforts to bring hygiene, safe sanitation and better health to millions of people in India and to set an example to be followed throughout the world.
