This event will showcase francophone youth engaged in the fight against climate change. The event takes place at the Hôtel de Ville de Paris and is expected to be attended by Madame Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris as well as the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, to learn more about the consultations and expected results.
As part of this event, The Global Water Partnership (GWP), the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ) and the International Water Secretariat (SIE) will be introducing a new initiative that will engage francophone youth around water issues in the lead-up to COP21.
This launch is the first step of this project that will allow youth from nine francophone countries to take part in national consultations on the role of youth in the management of water resources for food security in the face of climate change. This will lead to a youth-led white paper on this topic that will be presented to decision-makers as part of COP21. The event takes place today at the Parvis de l’hôtel de Ville de Paris.
