The HLRT created a better understanding of the role of water in adapting to climate change and a consensus on ways to protect water security. The meeting drew the attention of the Government to the need for all sectors to collaborate and consider water resource issues when making policies. The HLRT is one of many influences that may have had some bearing on the Central Government decision to provide more resources to speed up reform and development in the water sector over the next 5 to 10 years.
