A GWP-WA regional Secretariat undertook a monitoring mission from 09 to 13 July 2022. The objective of this mission was to monitor the implementation of the TFTC2 Project activities in Togo.
Every year on February 2nd, World Wetlands Day is commemorated to promote awareness of wetlands. The celebration of World Wetlands Day in 2022 is especially significant, as the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 75/317 on August 30, 2021, establishing February 2 as World Wetlands Day.
The SADC Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus Governance Framework, that was developed by SADC with technical assistance from GWPSA, was approved in a joint meeting held by the Ministers responsible for Energy and Water from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on the 30th October 2020 through video conferencing, hosted by the Republic of Mozambique.
The Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank is an initiative of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and was first launched in 2019. March 22, 2022, UN World Water Development Report 2022 “Groundwater - making the invisible visible” was launched at the opening ceremony of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal. GWP China facilitated the launching of the Executive Summary of the Report in Chinese.
GWP South Asia celebrated the World Water Day 2021, by organising a regional webinar on “Sharing Country Level Experience and Lessons on Valuing Water” on 22 March 2021 from 14.00-16.00 hours (New Delhi time).
