The Niger Basin Authority's project ‘Improving IWRM, knowledge-based management and governance of the Niger Basin and the Iullemeden - Taoudéni/Tanezrouft aquifer system’ (NB-ITTAS) is holding the first session of the regional platform of the Park W transboundary ecosystem in Ouagadougou from 28 to 30 April 2025.
Cameroon’s Vision 2025 was set to achieve 75% access to safe water for all. With the country’s new 2020–2030 national development strategy (SND30), authorities have set a higher objective of 100% water access in urban areas and 85% coverage in rural zones by 2030. The National Water Policy provides a strategic plan on how to achieve this.

For the Kingdom of Eswatini, these challenges are not just theoretical but a lived reality. Erratic rainfall patterns, prolonged droughts, and recurrent floods pose significant threats to water security and sustainable development. In response, Eswatini is actively implementing initiatives to strengthen climate resilience in its water sector.
In its continued efforts to strengthen climate resilience in the water sector, water stakeholders in Malawi gathered for a two-day kick-off workshop for activities under the AU AIP Multi-Country Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness Project, being implemented under the broader umbrella of the Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP), a flagship initiative aimed at closing Africa’s water investment gap.
The launching of the new GEF Drin II Project marks a bold step forward in addressing the environmental and socio-economic challenges of the extended Drin River Basin.
Bangkok, April 9, 2025 - Southeast Asia is facing increasing water-related challenges as climate change intensifies. To address these risks, a regional workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand from 8 – 9 April 2025, brought together experts and leaders from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and beyond to strengthen water and drought risk management under a flagship Climate Risk & Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Initiative.
