Interview with Elena Manvelyan, Head of the NGO Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment (AWHHE) in Yerevan, Armenia.

Up to 300 participants from more than 30 countries were gathered for the Gender, Water and Development Conference, 7-11 November in East London, South Africa. The conference is organised as a step towards an on-going journey to change equality, equity and development in the water sector.

The Stockholm World Water Week 2015 will be taken place in Sweden throughout the week 23-28 August, 2015. This year marks a 25-year anniversary of the event, which is organised by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). The theme of the year is “Water and Development”.

With the support of the Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO) and the Ministry of Water Resources of China (MWR), GWP China Technical Advisory Committee (GWP China TAC) was set up in November 2000 with the approval of the relevant governmental institutions. The GWPO has defined GWP China as a Regional Water Partnership.

An International Water Law workshop took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 16-20 November. The event promoted international cooperation and good transboundary water resources governance in the Amazon and Rio de la Plata basins.

Water Resources Commission of Ghana and Ghana Country Water Partnhip (GWP Ghana) organize on 10 November 2015 a one day meeting in Bolgatenga (Northern Ghana) to validate a two parts study in preparation of the White Volta Basin (WVB) investment Plan. The report updates IWRM plan for the WVB and provides the framework for identifying water resources management and related challenges in the basin. It highlights the socioeconomic trends, population dynamics and the general water resources conditions in the basin.

GWP Central America has been working closely with the Regional Committee for Water Resources (CRRH), which is part of the Central American Integration System, to strengthen regional capacity in the monitoring of climate to support decision making, especially related to agriculture, fisheries, water resources management, risk management and food security.

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire an Institutional & Legal Expert in the framework of the WACDEP project, for the account of the North-Western Sahara Aquifer System (NWSAS) Consultation Mechanism, to conduct the study on "Evaluation and options suggestion for the legal and institutional framework of the North-Western Sahara Aquifer System (NWSAS) Concertation Mechanism"
