South Asia Regional Workshop on Lessons Learnt in Strategy Implementation on Climate Change Adaptation in Water Sector is scheduled to be held from 9 to 10 September 2014 in Colombo, Sri Lanka; organised by South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP) in partnership with GWP South Asia.

The constitutive texts for the establishment of the Mono River Basin Authority (MBA) have been approved by the two countries (Benin and Togo) after a meeting of Ministers on July 4th, 2014 in Cotonou. The meeting of Ministers was preceded by a meeting of experts on 2 and 3 July 2014 to analyze documents that were approved by Ministers.
River Indio’s watershed is the source of water supply for the growing demand in the metropolitan area of Panamá. However, due to extensive human activity and mismanagement the area has been affected by extensive deterioration. Action has been taken to reinforce natural resources restoration and water resources conservation, grounded in government strenthening and integrated management. Important lessons can be drawn from this in terms of IWRM, as it sets a clear example of active participation of the communities and the local authorities.
“Karst Without Boundaries”, an international Conference and Field Seminar organized in the framework of the DIKTAS Project (Protection and Sustainable Use of the Dinaric Karst Aquifer System), was held from 11 to 15 June 2014 in Trebinje, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The 2014 GWP Regional Days and Consulting Partners were held in Port of Spain, Trinidad, from 23 to 28 June 2014. The theme of this year's meeting was: “The GWP Strategy Towards 2020: Addressing Thematic Issues”.
Following up to the International Roundtable on Transboundary Water Resources Management in the Southern Mediterranean and responding to the request expressed in June 2013 by the Arab Ministerial Water Council, the Workshop “Legal frameworks for cooperation on transboundary waters – Key aspects and opportunities for the Arab countries” took place in Tunis, Tunisia, on 11 and 12 June 2014.
The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Gender Strategy is now available online. The objective of the strategy is to bring gender into the mainstream of GWP’s work, by providing an overarching framework to practice gender- and women-inclusive approaches.
World Water Week 2014 takes place in Stockholm from 31 August to 5 September. This year’s theme is “Energy and Water”. Global Water Partnership will be involved in a number of activities during the week-long event.
