GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

GWP @ World Water Week 2023

World Water Week held every year since 1991 is one of the leading conferences on global water issues. The theme of this year’s World Water Week is “Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World.”

The UN Water Conference held in March this year highlighted that business-as-usual will not see us reach our water-related targets, but also due to water’s crosscutting relationship with sustainable development, failing to reach those targets would seriously jeopardise achievement of climate change goals, the fight against biodiversity loss, disaster risk reduction, poverty alleviation, and so on.

The antidote to business-as-usual is innovation. At the World Water Week this year, GWP and its network will therefore convene, support and take part in various efforts to come up with innovative ways to manage water, with our partners, putting water at the centre of development.
