On 15 June, Mina was in Stockholm, Sweden, taking part in the GWP Steering Committee meeting. At the time, she shared her story in a Facebook Live interview, where she talked about what made her start running for water; about her beliefs, motivation and determination.
"The 100 marathons in 100 days is to show what it means to be 100% committed to something. We have a global water crisis. We are facing a crisis that we have never faced before, and it's going to affect every single one of us in ways we can't comprehend. We can't allow that to continue, and most importantly, we can't allow the next generation to inherit the problems that we helped create. So, I want to show what it would take to solve this problem. I want to show that each one of us is capable of making change. I want to show that you don't have to be anyone to be someone."
As she runs, Mina will be telling stories of what's happening on the ground along her route, and her aim is to connect and mobilise people and companies to find ways to help solve the global water crisis. She invites everybody to join her:
