Togo, TFTC beneficiaries’ associations produce compost and capacity building for young professionals

Eau Vive Togo implementing its project to support young people in protecting the environment, water and soil (PAJPEES) has trained young men and women from 26 to 28 February 2019 in Danyi-Apéyéme on the compost production. To follow upon the training of the young agro-pastoralists, Eau Vive Togo gave to the beneficiary associations some inputs (chicken droppings and "Mycotri" boxes) for compost production.

GWP Nigeria appoints a new Permanent Secretary

The GWP-N has appointed a new Technical Secretary and desk officer in the person of Miss Amadi Chioma Ebelechi who resumed duty on the 11th of March 2019. All documents of GWP-N were handed over to her for safe keeping and proper running of the secretariat. She takes over Engr. Peter Suleh.

Discussions on revitalizing the Cape Verde PNE

In order to revitalize the Country Water Partnership in Cape Verde, the IDMP project manager, Ms. Félicité VODOUNHESSI together with the Senior Network Officer (SNO) of the GWP West Africa, Ms. Julienne ROUX also attending the WASAG Forum in Praia, met and discussed with some partners including the chair of the Cape Verde CWP, Mr Mario MONIZ, the Director of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS), Mr Inacio Mendes PEREIRA, and Mr Januario NASCIMONTO, Director of the Association for the Defense of Environment(of ADAD).

GWP WA at the 1st International Forum on Water Scarcity in Agriculture in Praia, Cape Verde

The first International Forum on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) which gathered delegates from 47 countries ended with the Praia Commitments, which aim to promote sustainable water management as an engine for development, strengthening synergies across the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030, and supporting farmers through improved access to finance, innovative technologies and the adoption of sustainable water management practices.

CWP Guinea organized a conference on IWRM on February 4, 2019 at Mahatma Gandhi University to raise awareness among students on this approach to manage sustainably water resources.
