GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Bringing Stakeholders Together in Bolivia

Eighty representatives from a diversity of water–related sectors participated in an informative meeting, held on 22 May 2015 in La Paz, to learn about the advantages of establishing a Country Water Partnership (CWP) in Bolivia.

As a result of the meeting, a group to promote and follow-up on the establishment of a CWP in Bolivia was created. Furthermore, three new GWP partners were approved: IICA Bolivia (international technical cooperation institution), AGUATUYA and RED HABITAT (national NGOs).

During the meeting, participants directly expressed their willingness to strengthen a joint action to efficiently implement International Water Resources Management (IWRM). The high participation also evidenced this interest. Participants were from academia and research centers, water authorities, the ministry of the Environment and the ministry of Foreign Affairs, municipalities, the private sector, international and national NGOs and international cooperation agencies.

At the end of the meeting, printed copies of GWP-OECD Policy Statement on Water Security and Sustainable Growth were handed in to the officials from government entities.

The follow-up group is composed of representatives from nine entities, including the vice-ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources of the ministry of the Environment, three research institutions from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, international and national NGOs and IICA Bolivia.
