This paper addresses the value of IWRM in meeting specific development challenges and in optimizing the contribution of water to achieving social, economic and environmental goals. The attempt was made to show that the presence of requirements of social ethics in the field of water resources use and protection demands adequate approaches not only in the process of considering practical water use but also issues of water resources management at different levels.
