Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia is one of the region in the international network which created to foster an integrated approach to water resources management (IWRM). The Global Water Partnership's vision is for a water secure world. Its mission is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development. The Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia was born in the year 2004. The Southeast Asia region was one of the earliest regions to take-off with a Global Water Partnership Regional Meeting on Water Resources Management for Southeast Asia held in Manila in June 1997

The GWP Network Celebrates World Water Day

The GWP network with more than 2000 partners worldwide, celebrates World Water Day with a number of activities and events in different regions of the globe: awareness campaigns on public radio, releases of video films about water security, participation in seminars and organisation of workshops for students, pupils and policy makers.

Asian Ambassadors visit GWP Secretariat

Ambassadors from ten Asian Embassies in Stockholm visited the GWPO offices on 18 March at the invitation by the Executive Secretary, to talk about water and GWP’s work in their respective countries and regions.

Assessing IWRM Progress

In the last two years, UN-Water and GWP have conducted studies to assess progress made in IWRM planning and implementation. The UN-Water global assessment includes case studies with illustrations of the tangible benefits of an integrated approach.
